Human Resources Manager
HOURS: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages and coordinates recruitment, staffing, staff relations, orientation and development, compensation, and benefits. Develops and recommends Human Resources practices and procedures that assist in the growth of the facility. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Participates in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs and supervises Human Resources personnel.
• Consults with all levels of administration in the facility; assesses training needs, chooses learning strategies, customizes material, and evaluates effectiveness of the material.
• Consults with all levels of administration including legal counsel, community and governmental representatives.
• Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple assignments, balance priorities, makes decisions quickly.
• Develops and evaluates recruiting resources and strategies.
• Works with Administration to determine salaries, compensation issues and other human resources policies and procedures.
• Develops and maintains a list of job descriptions for the facility.
• Reviews benefits with all employees; answers ongoing benefit questions.
• Seeks legal opinions when confronted with unusual, complex situations; termination of employment.
• Represents the facility at legal proceedings as part of a team.
• Expresses excellent judgement, discretion, and decision-making abilities.
• Assumes the responsibility for successfully complying with federal, state, and local employment laws, immigration legislation, and affirmative action goals.
• Interacts with department directors/managers on a wide range of staff performance issues, evaluations.
• Reviews all terminations and written disciplinary actions before they are carried out to ensure the facilities polies and procedures are met.
• Mediates conflicts between employees and management to resolve misunderstanding, facilitate communication to promote effective working relationships.
• Serves as a member of the administrative staff; attends management meetings.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures for recruitment. Coordinates recruiting, interviewing, testing and screening for the facility, professional, and non-professional applicants.
• Participates in job fairs and open houses.
• Maintains thorough documentation.
• Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized.
• Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
• Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Requires a High School diploma or a GED state certification.
• Three to five years business, administrative experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English; both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service skills.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Human Resources required.
