Registration Rep
HOURS: PRN. Night shift. Weekend availability required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interviewing incoming patient or his/her representative.
• Public address system, emergency communications system, and switchboard operation.
• Record information required for admission.
• Assign patients to rooms.
• Obtain credit information and verification prior to admission.
• Obtain signatures upon admission.
• Perform duties of casher, receptionist, and data entry clerk.
• Process outgoing mail.
• Participates in all hospital and departmental QI projects assigned.
• Attends and remains at work regularly, adheres to policy and procedures regarding absences and tardiness, also providing adequate notice of time off requests.
• Receives required educational units.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
• Work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Previous admitting and switchboard experience helpful. Medical terminology preferred.
• Microsoft Office experienced. Previous experience in an office or medical setting helpful.
